Honesty
Trust is earned over time. We believe in being straightforward with our customers, employees, partners, and communities, and in keeping our word even when it's difficult.
Our companies produce a growing range of products, from bubble gum, chewing gum,
and lollipops to motorcycle spare parts, bottles, preforms, crates, and other plastic products.
Afzali Group of Companies is a family-owned Afghan business group, built over generations and shaped by the people and communities we have worked with along the way. Our family’s experience spans wholesale trade, importing, distribution, and manufacturing. Today, our companies produce a growing range of products, from bubble gum, chewing gum, and lollipops to motorcycle spare parts, bottles, preforms, crates, and other plastic products. Behind it all is one family and a business that has grown step by step. We continue to build with the same values that have carried us through generations: hard work, trust, and the ambition to
create something that lasts.

Our mission is to grow with our communities, serve them, and reinvest in the people who have grown with us. We aim to create meaningful work, share practical skills, and give people opportunities to learn, develop, and build confidence in what they can achieve. We believe the knowledge and experience gained through work should become something people can carry with them for life. Through what we build and what we give back, we want to contribute to an Afghanistan where people are willing to learn, open to new ideas and better ways of doing things, confident enough to grow, and empowered to set higher standards for themselves and their future. When our communities grow, we grow with them. Connecting Afghanistan With the World Our ambitions do not stop at Afghanistan’s borders. We want to share another side of Afghanistan with the world, one represented by people who work hard, learn, produce, build, and remain determined to create better lives for themselves and their families.
We are eager to collaborate with businesses, organizations, and people worldwide who believe in the value of exchanging knowledge, skills, products, and opportunities. Through those relationships, we hope the world can come to know Afghanistan not only through the challenges it has faced, but also through the abilities of its people and what they can create. We want Afghan workers and businesses to have the opportunity to compete through what they can do, what they can make, and the value they can bring. For us, connecting with the world is not about leaving our roots behind. It is about building a bridge between the potential we see at home and the opportunities beyond it.
Our values come from how our family built this business and the responsibility we feel toward the people who have helped us grow.
Trust is earned over time. We believe in being straightforward with our customers, employees, partners, and communities, and in keeping our word even when it's difficult.
If we put the Afzali name behind something, we take responsibility for it. We are committed to improving how we work, what we produce, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Our business was built through uncertain and difficult times. Challenges have taught us to adapt, keep learning, and continue moving forward without losing sight of why we started.
We do not see ourselves as separate from the communities around us. They are where our story began, where our people live, and where we continue to invest, create jobs, and build opportunities.
Growth means more than making the company bigger. It means learning, improving our skills, raising our standards, and creating opportunities for the people who grow alongside us.
As our businesses grow, so does our responsibility. We believe in reinvesting in our people, our operations, and our communities, and in building businesses that create lasting value beyond the company itself.
It Started with a Small Shop Our story began long before the Afzali Group of Companies. During some of Afghanistan’s most difficult years of conflict and uncertainty, our grandfather operated a small shop in Bazar-e Ghojor in Jaghori, Ghazni. It was a modest family business that served the local community, but it became the starting point for everything that followed. Haji Zia Afzali began working alongside his father from around the age of fourteen. There, behind the counter of that small shop, he first learned about business, not from books or classrooms, but from customers, the market, long days of work, and the responsibility of helping a family business move forward. As he grew older, so did his ambitions. Building Something Bigger Haji Zia eventually started his own wholesale business in Bazar-e Qiagh. Building it required persistence. Alongside his wholesale work, he used his car to transport passengers between Kandahar and Jaghori, earning additional income while continuing to build the business. Around 2000, he took another major step and moved the business into Ghazni City. His brothers joined him, and what had begun as one young man’s effort increasingly became a family enterprise. Soon, the family expanded again, this time to Kabul. From Kabul’s Mandawi commercial market, the business began importing goods from China and distributing them throughout Afghanistan. Over the years, we built relationships with merchants and customers across cities, provinces, and rural communities. Trust became one of the most important things we built. But as the business grew, a different idea emerged.
After years of importing and distributing products made elsewhere, Haji Zia began asking a simple question: Why should we only bring finished products into Afghanistan when we can learn to make them here?
The family believed that producing goods inside the country could do more than create another business. It could create jobs, develop skills, support families, and contribute to the economy and communities around us. In 2012, that belief became a reality. We opened a small factory in Kabul’s industrial parks and began with four types of bubble gum. It marked a new chapter for our family, from decades of trading and distribution into manufacturing. The years that followed were not always easy. We faced challenges and difficult periods, but we remained committed to what we had started. We continued investing, learning, adding production lines, and building our manufacturing capabilities. In 2017, we reached another important milestone when we built our own factory building. From there, our manufacturing operations continued to expand. We moved beyond bubble gum into chewing gum and lollipops, while also expanding into plastic manufacturing and producing motorcycle spare parts. What began with four bubble gum products in a small factory was becoming something much larger.
Today, Afzali Group continues to grow with the same belief that brought us into manufacturing in the first place: a business should create value not only for itself, but also for the people and communities around it. From four bubble gum products in a small factory, our operations have grown to:
300+ Employees
12+ Production Lines
10,000+ m² (2.47+ acres) of Industrial Land Across Kabul Across our businesses, we manufacture bubble gum, chewing gum, lollipops, motorcycle spare parts, bottles, preforms, crates, and a growing range of plastic products. But for us, growth is about more than production lines, factory space, or the number of products we make.
Afzali Group has grown because of the people who have worked with us, trusted us, bought our products, and supported our businesses over the years. We believe that growth comes with a responsibility to invest back into the communities that have been part of our journey. For us, creating a job is only part of that responsibility. We want the people who work with us to have opportunities to learn, develop practical skills, and gain experience that stays with them throughout their careers. We want our people to develop skills that can stand alongside international standards, skills they can carry with them wherever their lives may take them. As our businesses grow, we want those opportunities to grow with them. Because this is not simply where we do business. It is our home.
